American Sniper

American Sniper has been watched and analyzed by many experts. For many people it was an inspiring story of a man that almost lost his family to his own darkness. Others see it as an idolized depiction of war, inappropriate to share.

No matter whom you ask, the students here at Ottawa University have overwhelmingly enjoyed the film.

Junior Jacob Miller said he thought the movie was really good. “It portrayed the story very well and the ending really completed the film the best that it could have, even though it was really sad,” he said.

First year student Caroline Jenkins watched American Sniper and said she enjoyed the movie. “I think that the way that it ended paid tribute to the memory of Chris Kyle and his family,” she said. “Honestly, without it the movie would be incomplete.”

Among these great reviews there were still people that enjoyed the movie, but thought it was not as fantastic. First year student Diana Moreno said she liked it. “It was a good movie, but I did see it being very predictable.”

Junior Matt Schwindt said Chris Kyle was portrayed well. “Obviously, I didn’t know him but he seemed like an upstanding individual,” Schwindt said. “The ending made me more depressed and it dampened the whole movie experience for me, but all in all I liked it.”

The movie was received extremely well here on campus. It captured the attention of a wide audience and successfully portrayed the life of a great hero. Chris Kyle’s service to this nation and to his family will be remembered and revered for generations.
