Makeup Tricks and Tips
I’ve been doing makeup for the better part of six years. Here’s what I’ve learned.
-
Everything Lines Up
The corners of your mouth line up with your irises when looking forward. The top of your ear that connects to your face matches up with the end corners of your eyes. You can even angle out eyeliner wings by putting a brush up to your nose and angling it to the desired angle on your eyelid.
-
Utilize the Color Wheel
Knowing the color wheel can help you in figuring out makeup looks. Gold and green (with yellow and green being complementary colors) are absolutely stunning together. Blue makes any kind of yellow shade pop more.
-
Use Different Techniques to Increase Pigment
Not all eyeshadow palettes have bright color payoff; luckily, there are ways to help these colors show and even can save your wallet in understanding how to make cheaper palettes work. Using your finger to apply colors is, in my opinion, the most effective way to lay down shimmer shades and any colorless mattes. Spraying the brush with setting spray can also provide more vibrancy to the shade you’re using.
-
Don’t Be Afraid to Experiment
Makeup is only temporary. If you want to try out a new look, go for it. There’s no long-term commitment to makeup, and that’s what makes it so fun and unique to use. Throw on some glitter on that lid or use some blue highlighter. It’s your face. Do what makes you feel beautiful.
I hope any of these tips help you on your makeup journey!
