Women's cross country competed at nationals
The women’s cross-country team finished 32nd in the national meeting that took place in Lawrence, Kan. on November 22.
Senior Chelsea Fullerton, who was running in her fourth and final national championship, finished 123rd with a time of 19 minutes and 35 seconds; her personal best time at nationals.
Fullerton said she felt pretty good. “I was a little fatigued for part of it, but was able to pick it back up at the end,” she said.
It was Ottawa's second national meeting in a row at the same location. Fullerton said she felt a lot better than last year. “I think I had a little bit more confidence than in years past,” Fullerton said.
Finally, with this being the last race of her college career, Fullerton said this year and this race was bittersweet. “I tried my best to enjoy every moment of it, even through the times when I was really tired or in pain,” Fullerton said. “It was a great last cross season.”
Sophomore Jordan Calderwood placed 203rd with a time of 20:09.40 and first-year student Christian Provence finished 240th with a time of 20:28.10.
