Volleyball sweeps Saint Mary University
The lady Braves beat the spires 3-0 (25-13; 25-20; 25-16) on Friday night at Wilson Field House to earn their fifth victory in a row to stay in the fight for the conference title.
OU was led by senior Allie Arnold, who had 13 kills in 22 attempts, senior Christa Hill, who had 36 assists, one service ace and five digs, and by junior Hannah Sittig, who finished with 10 digs and eight kills
With this win the lady Braves have a 19-9 record (12-2 in the KCAC). Their next game will be on Wednesday at 7 p.m. when they host Sterling College.
Football did not have any problems against Southwestern College
The Braves defeated the Southwestern College builders 55-0 on Saturday afternoon at Jantz Stadium.
The Braves also earned their fifth consecutive win and remain in the top of the stands of the KCAC with a 6-2 (5-1 in conference) record.
Senior Luke Lundy, who had 155 rushing yards and a touchdown, senior Michael Behr who had 154 passing yards and two touchdowns, and senior Kodee Wood, who received 76 yards and also had a touchdown, led the braves.
Their next game will be on Saturday when they visit Kansas Wesleyan University at 1:30 p.m.
Men’s soccer downed, women’s soccer still in the fight for conference
The lady Braves tied with their direct rival Kansas Wesleyan University 1-1 in double overtime on Saturday evening at Salina Stadium.
The lady Braves tied the game with seconds remaining in the clock thanks to a goal scored by junior Annie Kessler, sending the game to overtime, where none of the teams could score.
With this tie the lady Braves put their record in 9 wins, 2 losses and 5 ties (5-0-2 in conference).
Their next game will be on Saturday when they visit Tabor College at 1:00 p.m.
On the other hand, the men’s team lost to the Coyotes thanks to two goals in the second half.
This loss puts their record in 2 wins, 13 losses and 1 draw (2-4-1 in conference). Their next game is on Saturday at Tabor College, starting at 3:30 p.m.
