Phillips: Sara Bareilles songs still stuck in my head
Her song was stuck in my head for a whole year.
"Love Song" by Sara Bareilles was the first number one hit on the album that made her name known across the world. Now, as her new CD "Kaleidoscope Heart" hits radio waves around the world, it is guaranteed one of her new songs will become the new song that is trapped in my head.
The follow up CD to American singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles' debut album features the voices of familiar names such as Pharrell Williams and members of Weezer. "Kaleidoscope Heart," produced and mixed by Neal Avron hit the stands Sept. 7.
Her fresh collaborations and singles are sure to be topping the Billboard charts soon. The album is appropriately titled in the fact that Miss Bareilles does a beautiful job interpreting the kaleidoscope of emotions her song lyrics express.
Not only does she play the part of singing main vocals, Bareilles takes her talent to the next level by showcasing music at its finest, playing piano in most of the tracks which make up the album.
Her rich voice flows effortlessly throughout each song and appeals to a variety of listeners.
Though many of the tracks on "Kaleidoscope Heart" are moving and filled with meaning, there are also many that are very radio-friendly and leave you with bubbly lyrics stuck in your head. Bareilles, who has been quoted to be
"inspired" by artists such as "Kings of Leon," wrote several tracks with a different vibe.
Songs such as "King of Anything" change her soulful tune to something one can only describe as quirky and a bit more punk-rock.
It is songs such as this that show the sweet pop artist can hold her own while politely telling people to get off her back.
As Sara Bareilles kicks off her upcoming tour to introduce the new album, it is recommended that you pick up a copy of "Kaleidoscope Heart."
It will do you well if you are in the mood for a fresh taste of pop music or need to hear a ballad filled with emotion.
As for me, I will be sitting here bobbing my head and humming the tune of one of her many catchy hits.
