If You're Reading This It's Too Late
As a college student there is rarely a point in my day that is not accompanied by music. Even now as I type this there is music blaring out of my computer. With this high demand for constant sound and new beats, it is a struggle to find a consistent way of streaming music.
Enter Spotify, a revolutionary music-streaming app that has just about every piece of music from indie rock to One Direction.
With the world of music at our fingertips, college students have it made. As long as there is an Internet connection, there is a way to play our favorite songs and discover new ones at the touch of a button.
The music community has benefitted from this streaming service. With albums getting stream time and listens at a much faster rate than if they would just be played on the radio, music spreads like wildfire.
For example, Drake, a popular rap artist, recently broke the Spotify streaming record for most individual plays on his new album If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late. With a ridiculous 17.3 million streams in three days this new sound skyrocketed through the charts. This kind of attention is hard to ignore.
Although Spotify is not the only streaming service on the market it is most definitely the most customizable, allowing listeners to create their own playlists and save albums. In addition to streaming, through Spotify’s premium service you can also listen to music offline and without ads. At a reasonable five dollars a month for students, the premium app is a small price to pay for unlimited music.
