Parental Advice Vs. Friends Advice
Who's advice should you take?
We all have had those days when we need advice. But who do we ask? A majority of the time, we either ask our best friend or reach out to our parents and/or loved ones. This usually depends on what we need advice about. For more serious topics, we tend to look at our parents and beg for them to help solve our issues, just like when we were children. When we need someone to tell us we are better than that and understand where we are coming from, we reach out to our best friend. However, which one is going to be more useful?
Here is a list of advice a parent might give you:
-
“Make a choice. Right or wrong. Choose. The world is full of flat squirrels that could not make a choice.”
-
“Giving back feels good.”
-
“Be the bigger person, don’t stoop down to their level.”
-
“Be the girl you want your daughter to be. Be the girl you want your son to date. Be classy, be smart, be real, but most importantly be nice.”
-
“Do sharks complain? No. They’re up early. Biting stuff. Chasing things being scary- reminding everyone they’re a freaking shark.”
-
“Treat people how you want to me treated.”
-
“You can’t fight fire with fire.”
-
“Ask your mom.”
Here is a list of advice a friend might give you:
-
“You’re a bad b****.”
-
“Get yourself a sugar momma/daddy.”
-
“Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do.”
-
“Go treat yourself and let the bad things go.”
-
“Follow your dreams and don’t let anyone stop you.”
-
“It’s okay to cry and eat ice cream, but you better go out the next night and show them what they are missing.”
-
“Just shoot your shot. Ehat is the worst thing that could happen.”
-
“Call your mom and ask her what she thinks.”
If you are going through a rough time, or just need someone to tell you what to do, always reach out to a friend or loved one. A majority of the time we ask both, but we get completely different answers.
Here is what you should do: do what your mom tells you to do. Most likely your mom/dad is going to be right and only have your best interest in their heart. In the end, you will get the advice you need and end the day feeling better about yourself and whatever situation you are in.
