Volleyball goes on winning streak
The volleyball team is on its third game winning streak. The Lady Braves defeated Avila and Southwester to record a sixth conference win
"We have grown a lot as a team and I think we have a good chance to win some really good games this season," Toni Reynolds, senior, said.
Growth was shown as the Lady Braves as the wins against the teams were both taken to at least four games in the match.
Erin Scott, senior, believes this growth has come from a lot of practice throughout the season.
"Coach really emphasizes that we should never waste an opportunity," Scott said. "We look at every practice as a chance to improve and get ready for the game ahead. I see new improvements every day, individually and as a team, so I know that practice is progressing well."
The student body crowd frequents the home games in an effort to support the girls' team.
"They are a very spirited team and fun to watch," Leah Frey, junior, said. "I love to come give my support to such a great team."
Next up for the Lady Braves is a round of KCAC games when the Lady Braves travel to McPherson to battle McPherson College at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26 and take on Kansas Weslyan at home Oct. 28.
With many games ahead, Scott believes there is time to improve.
"The bar was set high, but we didn't set a goal without being prepared to achieve that goal," Scott said.
As this month also is Breast Cancer awareness month, the Lady Braves are raising money in order to support cancer research. The team asks every fan to DIG PINK, check up to date scores, and donate to the cause from the Braves athletic web site.
Game results against Sterling College were unavailable at press time.
