Favre can't let go

On September 9, 2009

Brett Favre is a 39-year-old quarterback who just recently signed a contract to play for the Minnesota Vikings. This is the second time Favre has ended retirement in his NFL career - the first was in 2007 while with the Green Bay Packers. Favre will be entering his 19th season in the NFL since his decision to sign with the Vikings on a two-year deal. The Vikings will be paying Favre $12 million this year, which matches what he was getting paid with the New York Jets. I think Favre should have just stayed retired the first time after he did his retirement speech. Favre ruined the whole definition of the word retirement if you ask me. What he did was take an unpaid vacation and made a decision that he knew he wasn't going to stick with. Favre is one of the most talented quarterbacks to ever hit the NFL playing field. But the problem Favre has is giving up the love that he has for the game of football or maybe he feels like he didn't accomplish everything he wanted to on the field. Favre also probably wants revenge on the Green Bay Packers as well. But he is getting closer to old age and can't take too many more hits if you ask me. He previously had surgery on his passing shoulder from his season with the Jets. Now he just currently went into surgery for a bicep injury. The longer he keeps playing the more his chances to do some major bodily damage to himself increase. Come on, Favre has been the starting quarterback with Green Bay since 1992-2007 and that's a lot of hits in 15 years of playing time.
