Beers: Get involved on OU campus
First and foremost I would like to thank the student body for choosing me to help be their voice. This is something special to me; I take this seriously and want to help everyone I can. No matter what, the student body comes first because that is the voice I am speaking for.
This year I have come to believe that every year is just another year and we go through the same motions doing the same thing. Yet at the same time everyone gets tired of the same thing. Let's make an impact this year! I know that every year is a new year but what sets the rest of the years apart from each other?
Most of all at college I learned to be myself, and I would like to encourage everyone else to do the same. It's the best way to get through college. Yet at the same time find what makes you live and come to life and make an impact through that. Most students here at Ottawa University are student-athletes and yes we all compete every day inside and outside the classroom, but at the same time let's make an impact.
You are you, I am me, but when we mix that all together we are Ottawa University and we can set our self apart from the rest. Please help me help you. My job is simple: you tell me what you would like to see here at OU and I do the best I can to get it done for you and give you a valid reasoning of why or why not it can happen. My job is to be the voice of Ottawa University, I am trying to get the Mabee center open longer, see perhaps if a Redbox is possible for both parties, get change machines in every dorm, library open on Saturdays during finals week, outdoor basketball court, and so much more, but at the same time it takes a lot to accomplish these things. I know these things can be done butI would like to get them done this year for the students, I would like to make an impact this year for the students and all I ask from the students of OU is to be yourself, and whatever it is that makes you come to life do that because this university needs life.
Be you, be a part of something this year, become apart of Ottawa University and help support all groups and athletics. Go Braves and God bless.
