Hulu & Netflix for the Win

College students are known for binge watching TV with the occasional movie thrown in. However, with classes, clubs, practice and a social life, how is it possible to watch your favorite TV shows on time? Luckily, streaming giants such as Netflix and Hulu are available.

Hulu is known for streaming current shows the day after they air. This is a great option for college students because sports practices are typically at night, which means there’s no time to watch your favorite shows as they air.

Hulu starts at $8 a month if you’re okay with commercials. For those who don’t like commercials, an extra $4 a month provides unlimited commercial-free access to your favorite shows. For those who are extremely impatient and don’t want to pay for cable, for $40 a month, you can access live television including sports.

Hit TV shows such as “This is Us,” “The Bachelor,” “Bachelorette,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Empire,” “Shades of Blue” and many others are available on Hulu for all your binging needs. Although Hulu is well known for its TV shows, it also has movies available. For those of you who need a way to watch your favorite TV shows, Hulu is the way to go.

And now, introducing the one and only Netflix.

Netflix comes with three different plans. The cost of the basic one is only $7.99, the standard is $10.99 and the premium is $13.99.

The main difference between these three plans is basically the number of devices that the same account can be used on at one time.

One of the most enjoyable qualities of Netflix is the many different categories of media. Not only does Neflix show movies, but it includes TV shows, documentaries, cartoons, original movies and series, and many others.

Another fantastic characteristic of Netflix is the option to download episodes. So, when you’re on a long drive to a tournament, you don’t need data on my phone or Wi-Fi to watch your series.

Something else that really makes the difference is that there are always several language options for both audio and subtitles. If you’re feeling adventurous and like learning new languages, you can set the audio to something like French and the subtitles to something like Spanish, so you can learn two different languages at once.

When a college student’s plans for Friday night don’t involve going out to party, you can be sure that Hulu or Netflix will be involved.
