Bruce Jenner announced he will come out as transgendered

Bruce Jenner has recently confirmed that he will be coming out as transgendered within his interview with Diane Sawyer. The interview is still under discussion about when it will happen. 

This announcement has been discussed with the idea that there will be a new reality show featuring Jenner throughout the transition process. 

Bruce Jenner has been headlining celebrity gossip after the announcement of separation with his wife back in 2011.  

Jenner had recently decided to come out because he wanted to wait until his children, which can be seen on the reality show “Keeping up with the Kardashian’s” on E!, were old enough to realize the situation.  

Jenner has been an object of humor within some tabloids. Intouch magazine recently had Jenner on their cover with an obvious Photoshopping of makeup and women’s clothing over his person.  

Then, star comedians such as Kevin Hart and Jeff Ross mocked Jenner at Comedy Central’s “Roast of Justin Bieber.” Jeff Ross said: “Kendall Jenner, if you and Justin Bieber get married, who is going to give you away?  Only man in the family is Khloe Jenner.”  

Some critics have decided this entire situation is just a way to make more money off of another hit reality television show.  This idea comes from his refusal to come out until the interview with Sawyer. “This is a civil rights battle. This is not about selling TV shows,”  Bob Tur, former CBS helicopter pilot, said.   

First year Sebastian Davila gave his personal opinion on whether or not transgendered people chose their orientation. “I think they do. Because you choose whether or not to be transgendered based on your orientation,” Davila said. “Just because it’s biological doesn’t mean it’s not a choice. Someone can choose to not feel the feelings that they feel.”  

Sophomore Elizabeth Weeden disagrees with Davila’s statements. “I don’t think it’s a choice. I think it’s biological,” she said.   

Sophomore Marisa Worthy follows the same path as Ms. Weeden. When asked what she would do if someone close to her came out as transgendered, she said she would support them and love them no matter what orientation that they are.  

Whether or not this is a way for Jenner to star in a new reality show will never truly be revealed. Audiences can expect Jenner’s announcement within the upcoming months, as well as an introduction to the new reality television docu-series in subsequent months.
