October brings one of the OU campus’s biggest weeks of the year: Homecoming/ Fall Family Weekend.

Aimed at providing events for the student body, alumni, and students’ families, this week is brimming with excitement.

The following events will be occurring during the week of the 12th – 18th for OU students for the 2014 Homecoming, themed “The Greatest Show”.

Sunday, October 12th – Free Movie Night will take place at Crystal Plaza Theater at 10 pm; Dracula Untold and Maze Runner will be playing.

Monday, October 13th – In the Gibson Student Center there will be a photo booth taking place from 10am-2pm. Students can take as many pictures as they’d like!

Tuesday, October 14th – The Rivalry Game Show will take place in the Gibson Student Center at 8pm. The game show involves splitting up into two teams (guys versus girls, underclassmen versus upperclassmen, etc.) and facing off with trivia and challenges.

Wednesday, October 15th – Tie Dying will be occurring in front of the Administration Building from 2-4pm, white t-shirts will be provided for students, although they are free to tie dye other articles of clothing as well. At 11:59pm that same day, Donut Run will be happening at Daylight Donuts.

Thursday, October 16th – This evening, the second annual Mr. Brave competition will take place in Fredrickson Chapel at 8pm. In this competition, based on spirit, talent, and outfit of choice, some of the males of Ottawa University battle for the crown in front of their audience.

Friday, October 17th – The traditional pep rally bon fire and fireworks show will take place at 11th and Mulberry at 8pm. There will be s’mores and a gift card raffle during the bone fire. Directly following the fireworks show, the movie ‘Maleficent’ will be playing for the movie night in the Commons.

Saturday, October 18th - The final day of Homecoming Week will entail multiple sporting events, including the football game against Sterling College at 1pm, followed by women’s and men’s soccer games at 5pm and 7:30pm respectively, all taking place on Peoples Bank Field. The homecoming ceremony will take place during halftime of the football game.

Students are greatly encouraged to attend any and all of these events. We hope to make this the best Homecoming Week to date!
