Which phone is really better--the iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy III or the Droid RAZR M?

Everyone has their own personal preference on what smart phone is better, but which one actually is according to the professionals?

Let’s start with the basic iPhone 5 with 16GB Memory in black. The first thing to show up is the price. At Apple, it is $199.99 with a 2-year contract, but is $699.99 regularly. The size is 4.87 inches tall, 2.31 inches long, and 0.30 inches wide, making it small enough to fit in your pocket, but large enough to see what you’re doing.

The iPhone 5 comes with Bluetooth 4.0 wireless technology, along with assisted GPS, a digital compass, Wi-Fi and cellular usage. With a retina display, 4-inch widescreen multi-touch display, fingerprint-resistant coating on front and has the ability to display multiple languages and characters simultaneously. So you basically won’t need to buy a GPS or have to clean the screen after every time you talk or text someone.

Want to capture a special moment with this bad boy? With an 8-megapixal iSight camera, panorama ability, video recording in HD, FaceTime camera, autofocus, tap to focus or still images, face detection in video or still images, LED flash, improved stabilization and photo and video geotapping, it’s like a fancy camera plus Facebook all in one.

But how long does this thing stay on until I have to charge it? It has a talk time of up to 8 hours on 3G, standby time of up to 225 hours, Internet use of 8 hours on 3G and 8 hours on LTE, and up to 10 hours on Wi-Fi with video playback time of up to 10 hours and audio playback of up to 40 hours. You will be cruising for hours without a charger.

Now the iPhone 5 sounds like a quality phone with all this information, but can the other two stands up to the competition?

Next is the Samsung Galaxy S III with 16GB in white; the price is $99.99 with a 2 year contract, but just like the iPhone 5, it is a whopping $699.99 regularly. Standing tall at 5.4 inches tall, 2.8 inches long and 0.34 inches wide it is a long device, but with a slim feel. It can still fit in your hand, but if you’re a girl with small pockets, you might want to bring a purse.

The Galaxy S III comes with Bluetooth compatibility just like the iPhone 5, but the Galaxy S III has a 4.8 inch color super touch screen, Wi-Fi and cellular usage. Although it doesn’t come with a built-in GPS, there is an App store which makes it easy to download a GPS application.

When capturing a special moment with this phone, you’ll be using a 8-megapixal camera that can take still photos along with videos. You can also do FaceTime video with the Samsung’s version as well. But there is something new about the Galaxy S III that has everyone talking. It’s the ability to tap the phone against another Galaxy S III to transfer photos, videos and other data.

When you’re using this phone, you have up to 15 hours of talk time and 200 hours of standby time. It also has the ability to be changed from 3G to 4G to use your data plan.

Finally, the Droid RAZR M 4G in platinum; this phone is the one you’ll be paying the least for with a 2 year activation plan, only $49.99, but it’s still $549.99 without the plan. At 4.82 inches tall and 2.39 inches long, it is the same size as the other two phones. But the RAZR M has a screen made out of Gorilla Glass, which keeps scratches and scrapes away from the screen, along with DuPont Kelver Fiber for the back of the phone. It seems unbreakable. Lastly, there is a water-repellant noncoating, so if you drop your phone in the toilet, it’s safe.

Like the other two phones, there is Bluetooth 4.0, and like the iPhone 5, there is GPS and eCompass built into the phone. Wi-Fi and Google+ control this phone making it filled with the new Google+ specs and with the ability to stream wirelessly from your phone.

The camera is an 8-megapixal, just like the past two phones, along with a front facing camera for FaceTime talking. There is also video playback and HD.

Lastly, this phone lasts up to 20 hours when using, and approximately 17 days of standby time! Yes you read that right—days.

So which one is the best? For me, it’s between the iPhone 5 and the RAZR M. They seem to have the most interesting features with the screen and protection for their devices. But, it’s all up to the buyer. I’ll be doing some hard thinking before upgrading to my next phone, and everyone else should too.

All research came from apple.com for the iPhone 5, reviews.cnet.com and Samsung.com for the Galaxy III and Motorola for the RAZR M.
