Progressive changes
The musical titan that is Brand New have done it again with a new CD, this time producing a sound much more matured than their earlier albums.
Released Sept. 22nd, the anticipated new album ‘Daisy' is yet another brilliant addition to the collection from the band we know and love.
With plenty of screaming, and moody guitar riffs galore, Brand New has successfully produced what we have come to expect from the band.
Like their other albums, they keep a good lineup of heavy songs such as "Gasoline" then transition to the lighter side with songs like "You Stole", that also sport the trademark cacophony of guitar work at the end of the song.
The lyrics themselves hold up to my standards, and I have come to expect nothing less. What surprised me was that fellow band member Vincent Accard took over much of the lyric writing for this album.
It is difficult to get caught
up over this small note. Although he did not produce a masterpiece such as "Jesus Christ," the songs are solid and worthy of bearing the Brand New title.have more of a cohesive flow between songs, which is a technical advancement that comes through maturity.
Brand New still have managed to adapt and improve for the better of their music.
Even the hauntingly garbled "Be Gone" adds an experimental depth to the already broad spectrum of the band's capabilities. "Sink" and "In a Jar" also emerge visibly as experiments that only add to the album.
Overall, Brand New has plenty to offer in their new album from "Vices" to "Noro".
What Brand New does with their music is progressive and they are on track with this album to keep to their reputation as an ever-evolving group.
The album itself seems to
To me this album does not conquer what "The Devil and God" achieved
That being said, Daisy is more than deserving of its spot next to their previous albums on the shelf.
