Smart Phone App Review
1. Instagram
Instagram is the best app for people who enjoy taking a lot of pictures and videos, and I am definitely one of those people. With 20 different effects to choose from, Instagram allows you to choose the picture or video you want and make it look however you wish. It’s a great and unique way to connect with your friends and it gives you the ability to use hashtags like Twitter, so you can interact with people around the world. It’s also the perfect place for girls to post thousands of duck-face selfies everyday…NOT.
2. Snapchat
Snapchat is like texting on steroids. Not only can you send messages to your friends, you can send it with a picture or video. Snapchat is fast, easy to use and very entertaining. The amount of horribly ugly Snapchats that I send to my friends in a day is probably out of control, but I know I’m not the only one who does that. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve been someone’s “Woman crush Wednesday” because they took a screen-shot of my cross-eyed, double-chinned face. But hey, I haven’t learned and I continue to send them out.
3. Google Maps
I am horrible at directions. In fact, if you put me in the middle of Kansas and told me to find my way back to Ottawa, I couldn’t. Thank goodness for Google Maps. Google Maps allows you to put in any address around the world and then it will completely guide you to your destination. This is perfect for people like me and so convenient. Now, you can never get lost again. And if you still get lost, there’s no hope for you.
4. Pandora
Who doesn’t love free music? Though the commercials are annoying, they’re worth it because Pandora allows you to listen to any genre of music just by searching for it. It’s a wonderful way to discover new music and can be completely built around your specific music tastes. And, if you really like a song that comes on, you can buy it on iTunes straight through Pandora. There’s not an easier way to listen to music.
5. Flappy Bird
There’s no easier way to describe Flappy Bird than the most frustrating yet addicting game ever. All you have to do is tap the screen and get the bird through the green pipes. Sounds easy, right? No, it is not easy and you will Flappy Bird will die when you plow beak-first into the green Mario-esque pipes. Flappy Bird will die when it dives straight into the ground, even when you swear you tapped the screen. I don’t understand how people get high scores into the hundreds. Like, do you have a life? Are you superhuman? I get excited when I reach 10. But then Flappy Bird dies again and I want to break my phone. No matter how frustrating it is though, we all continue to play it because we all dream of beating our high scores. Even if it takes a billion tries.
