Campus changes bring more cost to students
There a few changes that have been made to the Ottawa University campus, and unfortunately it seems as if the cost of these changes has made an impact on the student pockets.
The changes include the meal transfers at the snack bar, the most popular eating spot on camp.
You have two choices. You can pay for the foods you usually enjoy in the snack bar or you can eat the food from the cafeteria.
I wonder, did the school think that it would make them a lot more money if the students paid cash out of their pockets to pay for the delicious chicken and fries from the snack bar? It seem to be the most popular meal.
Some may not have to pay for the foods from the snack bar, and by some I mean those that do not live on campus.
The students that do not live on campus are provided with a little flexi-cash that is provided by the school. But let's be honest, the flexi-cash doesn't really last long.
And for those who do actually live on campus, they have to provide their own flexi-cash on their school accounts or just buy food. And if they don't enjoy either of those choices they can always eat in the cafeteria.
Another change that has been made to the campus is the new printing situation. I know the campus wants to go green, which I think is a wonderful idea, but the fact that when the allowed amount of money provided on our school accounts is used up we will have to pay for printing is an outrage.
To me it looks like every time I have a little change or a few dollars saved or in my pockets there are new ways to take it away.
I want to know where exactly does the money we as students pay to attend the university go.
How is any of the new changes making the campus a better place for the students, since we are suppose to be the ones that matter?
