Dorm friendly recipes
on home-cooked meals can be tough. That’s why I have searched and gathered some warm and comforting recipes that you can use to get you through it. The best part: All of these recipes can be made in any of the dorm buildings.
Everyone loves mac and cheese, but have you ever heard of microwave mac and cheese that is homemade and not out of a box?
All you need is:
½ cup of elbow noodles
½ of water
3 tablespoons of milk
A pinch of salt
A pinch of pepper
¼ cup of shredded cheese
First, you mix the elbow noodles, water and salt in a microwaveable bowl or mug. Next, you microwave this mixture for 2-3 minutes and then stir. Then you add the milk, cheese, more salt and pepper, then stir this mixture again. Finally, you microwave the mixture for 30 more seconds and stir, and then it is done!

Pizza is definitely a crowd favorite, and one of my favorites as well, but pizza can also be made in the airfryer.
All you need is:
2 packages pizza dough
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
⅓ crushed tomatoes
1 clove of garlic
½ teaspoon of oregano
A pinch of salt
A pinch of pepper
½ mozzarella ball
Basil leaves
First, flour a clean surface and take out your pizza dough and flatten it into a pizza shape. Repeat this with a second dough ball. Next, brush olive oil on both pieces of dough, take one of these pieces and put it in the air fryer with the oil side up. Then combine the crushed tomatoes, garlic, oregano, salt and pepper. Take half of this mixture and spread it on to the dough that is in the air fryer, add half the mozzarella on top of this mixture and air fry this at 400 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes or until the cheese is melted. Finally take this first pizza out of the air fryer and garnish with basil leaves, repeat with the second piece of dough and enjoy!

Who doesn’t love dessert? I know I do, and chocolate chip cookies are a childhood favorite of mine since they remind me of home. Did you know that chocolate chip cookies can be made in the microwave?
All you need is:
2 tablespoons of butter
1 tablespoon of brown sugar
1 tablespoon of sugar
¼ teaspoon of baking powder
⅛ teaspoon of salt
¼ teaspoon of vanilla extract
3 tablespoons of flour
2 tablespoons of chocolate chips
First you add the butter, brown sugar, regular sugar, baking powder, salt and vanilla in a bowl and mix. Next you add the flour, chocolate chips, and mix with the other ingredients previously mixed. Then put the bowl with the mix into the microwave and heat for a minute. Finally, enjoy!

An old tried-and-true recipe that I just had to include is the infamous grilled cheese!
All you need is:
2 slices of any kind of bread
Any kind of sliced cheese
First you need a toaster. Place the toaster on its side so the slots are on top of each other. Next take one slice of bread topped with cheese and make sure the cheese is contained within the crust and not sticking out. Then place that piece of bread on the bottom slot of the toaster and the other piece of bread with no cheese in the top slot of the toaster. Turn on the toaster and wait for the cheese to melt and for the bread to get toasty (this should take 1 to 2 minutes). Finally, take both pieces of bread out and put the pieces together and enjoy!
You can enjoy these recipes right in your dorm room, without breaking any rules and getting a tasty treat!
