Spring break marathons
Spring break looks a little bit different this year than it has in the past. Many students will be staying on campus due to the majority of their sports season happening in the spring. Others are staying on campus to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
There aren’t any classes during spring break, but the student government does plan on having programs for students around their practice times. But what about when there isn’t practice and there isn’t an activity going on?
If you’re not outside enjoying the weather, or perhaps you feel a little under the weather and it is better for you to stay in, there are many binge-worthy TV shows that can keep you occupied between morning and afternoon practice.
Here are five binge-worthy TV shows that can keep you occupied day-in and day-out of your not-so-spring-break.
5. “Survivor,” Netflix
There are two seasons of “Survivor” on Netflix, filled with intense challenges, broken alliances and insane eliminations. Experiencing 39 days in the wild, competing for a million dollars with a lot of unnecessary drama is enough to convince anyone that they either would excel on the show or should sit on the sidelines and watch those who actually can. There are strategies that will surprise you and keep you on the edge of your seat each episode.
4.“WandaVision,” Disney+
If you have yet to watch the nine-episode MCU series following the Scarlet Witch and the Vision, this is a series that you can get through in just a couple of hours. How powerful is Wanda Maximoff? Didn’t Vision die? This series raises all sorts of questions for Marvel fans, but to make it more interesting, it answers questions that Marvel fans have had since the Blip.
3. “New Girl,” Netflix
Zooey Deschenal plays Jess, the new roommate that has to adjust to life with three men after a devastating break-up. This comedy has seven seasons filled with laughs and twists that entice viewers into hitting “next episode” every half an hour. If you’re looking for laughs, “New Girl” is the way to go.
2. “Jane the Virgin,” Netflix
Jane Villanueva is the picturesque Catholic girl; saving herself for marriage, praying to God, even having a kid without actually having sex. This telenovela offers so many twists and turns that you can never actually be sure of what is going to happen next. Prepare for tears and prepare for cheers, because a lot will happen throughout the five seasons.

“Grey’s Anatomy,” Netflix
“Grey’s Anatomy” is one of the longest-running TV shows out there, having started airing in 2005 and still on television to this day. Over the years, the cast changes based on external career needs and is orchestrated into the show perfectly. By the end, you could consider yourself a surgeon. You probably shouldn’t, but you could. Who do you prefer: McDreamy or McSteamy?
When you’re tired from practice, or you just don’t really want to leave your room, TV shows are the way to go. Pick out one of these shows and you will be set for a while.
