When you can't think of what to give, here's what to get
It’s finally Christmas time: Santa, cookies, maybe even some snow? But one thing that a lot of people look forward to around Christmas is the presents that they get. Some presents are easy to buy, as some people are easy to get gifts for. But what about those who aren’t that easy to shop for?
Some people’s interests are too expensive and others, you just can’t figure out what they want. There are even some people that you don’t think it’s appropriate to buy them a gift. Here is an idea of what you can get each special person in your life, without breaking the bank.
For the women in your life
-
Socks - $1
Most stores have fuzzy socks that are $1, and even the ones that aren’t won’t put a dent in your budget. When you don’t know what to get for a girl, whether she’s your mom, grandma, sister or whoever, they will appreciate a pair of socks. -
Blankets - $5
Blankets are another great gift to get any of the ladies in your life. No one will say no to a blanket and no one can ever have too many, no matter what anyone else says. They’re inexpensive if they’re small, but it truly depends on how much you want to spend. -
Jewelry of any price
Jewelry is a common thing among women: rings, necklaces, bracelets, whatever. I recommend avoiding rings unless you know their ring size, but necklaces and bracelets are pretty universal. When you can’t find one that seems just right, go for their birthstone.
For the men in your life
-
Socks - $1
Honestly, socks are universal for everyone. If you’re really lost on what to get someone, pick up a pair or two from your local dollar store. -
Wallet - $5/$10
Wallets can be inexpensive and every guy has one, and if they don’t, they need one. You can pick up a wallet at Walmart or Target for relatively cheap and no one will know the difference from that one or a fancy one. -
Sweatshirts of any price
Let’s face it, guys wear sweatshirts a lot more than anyone else; it completes the outfit most of the time. Sweatshirts are on the upper end of the price range and you’ll need to know what size to get them, but it’s worth it to see a smile on their face.
For those you have/want to get a gift for, but don’t know what to get them
-
Candy
It’s not strange to ask people what their favorite candy is, so after they let you know what it is, buy them a couple bars, boxes or bags of what they like and give that to them. This would also work for drinks or other various snacks. -
Gag gifts
When you’re friends with someone and just really not sure what to get, but they love a good laugh, hit up the dollar section of a couple of stores and get them some random items. For one of my friends, I got him “Frozen” chapstick, because he’s not a big fan of the movie. -
Gift cards
Gift cards are a pretty easy gift to give and will almost always find a way to be used. A nice gift card to a sit down restaurant or a store is a safe gift to give and there’s usually no complaints attached.
Christmas shopping is hard, but it doesn’t have to be the hardest thing on your plate this holiday season. Don’t wait until the last minute to get your gifts done either, because that’ll just add to the stress. Happy holidays!
