Seeking Motivation?

The cold weather is finally here and midterm grades are out, which means many students around campus are focusing on one thing: the end of fall semester. With only four more weeks until finals, not a lot of motivation is circulating around campus. Everyone is excited for Thanksgiving Break and a chance to go home, but before that happens, there is still work to be done. If you’re having trouble getting out of bed, going to class or even finding the will to brush your hair in the morning, don’t worry, you are not alone. Here are a few ideas that will hopefully make the next few weeks seem like a breeze:

  1. Set out a pair of clothes at night so you don’t have to worry about it in the day.
No, seriously do this. It will save time in the morning and keep you from wearing the same leggings four days in a row.

  2. Plan out your week.
Schedule out everything from class and practice times to game days and meetings. This will help you see how much time you have in-between for studying and will keeping you from cramming it all into the last minute.

  3. Speaking of cramming, don’t.
Just don’t do it. You wouldn’t wait until 10 minutes before the game to get your gear on would you? So why wait 10 minutes before a class to write the essay that’s due? It’ll just add more stress.

  4. Don’t jeopardize your sleep schedule
I know going out with your friends is important, but save it for the weekend. You’ll thank yourself in the morning.

  5. Find a way to relax when you’re stressed
This could be going a nearby café or even going home for the weekend. If you’re stressing about school, take a breather to help get your mind off of things for a bit. Be careful not to procrastinate though. It’s easy to say, “I’ll do it tomorrow,” but, let’s be honest, we never stick to that plan.

Hopefully something on this list will help you with whatever may come up in these last couple of weeks. You can do it.
