7 Reasons Why You Should Attend OU Sporting Events

In a school where most students are athletes, a tennis player doesn’t often watch a baseball game and a basketball player is not often present for a golf event due to our busy schedules. However, there are a lot of positive things that can happen when attending University sporting events.

1. Admire good-looking players

Every student has his or her “crush.” In a school where most students are athletes, that crush is usually an athlete; so, why not go enjoy even more of the college experience by watching your crush present their talent. It can be intimidating, but it’s definitely worth seeing him or her in action.

2. Learn about other sports

For example, baseball, football and softball are common sports in the United States, however international students may not be as familiar with these sports. Attending different sporting events from what you play can be an eye-opening experience learning about the non-traditional major sports.

3. Watch a good game

Collegiate sports are always filled with passion and an even better atmosphere. Each game is extremely important and everyone wants to win, which means the athletes will continuously leave “everything out on the field.” 

4. Hang out with friends

College is full of stress and anxiety. Sometimes there is not even time for friends because of the crazy amount of homework, studying and extracurricular activities. Watching your school’s game can be a great way to get out of the library and socialize. Not only can you enjoy a good game but invite a friend or a group of people to go with you. You’ll be able to catch up along with supporting your school’s team.

5. Wear black and gold

It’s a great excuse to showcase all the free shirts we students get and also to wear a sweet black and gold outfit.

6. Meet new people

It doesn’t matter if you’re into sports or not, the atmosphere will definitely catch you by surprise and get you going. Before you realize, you will be yelling for our team alongside everybody around you. This shared interest between fans can result in new friendships.

7. Something to do other than sit in your room

Leave sitting in your dorm room for bedtime. Go watch a game and meet new people. You only get four years to enjoy what the University has to offer!
