Fundraising Opportunities
When it comes to fundraising options, it is clear that coaches at Ottawa University enjoy taking their athletes on trips to Kansas City, MO, or Lawrence, KS, to work the exhausting University of Kansas games. Nonetheless, working long and tiring shifts as security or ushers for these games are not the only options coaches could possibly look for.
Given the reason that this is Ottawa, and the population is not as high as desired, we could try to pair up with restaurants in the area and work on a fundraising plan that would benefit both the restaurant and the teams.
Below is a list of restaurants and their fundraising deals and options.
Burger King
Schedule a certain time with Burger King and invite friends, family and all potential donors to eat at this restaurant during that time frame. Your team, organization or club will receive 20 percent of pre-tax sales from your event. Burger King’s policy states that all money raised is sent to the fundraiser within 45 days.
Pizza Hut
Fundraiser nights can be scheduled for Monday or Wednesday evenings from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. During this time frame, Pizza Hut will donate back up to 20 percent of the net sales generated by members of your group. Interested organizations and teams just have to encourage friends, families and donors to dine-in, carry-out or order delivery within these hours.
McDonald’s
McTeacher’s Night is a type of fundraising event where teachers and school staff actually serve the food behind the counter. If you’ve ever witnessed what a thrill kids get out of seeing their teachers in roles outside the classroom, imagine how much they will enjoy watching their teacher flipping burgers and scooping up bags of French fries! Invite friends and family to eat at your local McDonald’s during your scheduled event, and a generous 20 percent of sales generated during your event will go to your school.
Applebee’s
Applebee’s is committed to serving to the community along with cultivating a neighborhood atmosphere. Applebee’s offers different options for hosting fundraising events. You can choose from casual, quick breakfast gatherings to more elegant evening functions. When you host your event with Applebee’s, 15 percent of the pre-tax, pre-gratuity sales proceed to your organization, charity or team.
Subway
Sub sandwich can earn up to 90 percent profit for the team, with no up-front payment, no minimum order. Everybody loves sub sandwiches and everybody loves free stuff. Combine the two, and you have our Buy One Get One Sub Sandwich Card! Go into any participating Sub Sandwich store and buy a 6" sub and medium drink at regular price and get a 6" sub FREE!
So here are a few potential alternatives, although there are more restaurants around the area, coaches and athletes can always go in and talk to the manager about fundraising opportunities. About 90 percent of restaurants are open to offer a fun and easy way to fundraise, so do not hesitate to check the alternatives.
