‘Frozen’ hits campus, brings a packed house

Burr! Ottawa University was “Frozen” on March 4, 5, and 6 in the student commons.

The Ottawa University Theatre Department presented to the campus and community a play written by Bryony Lavery.

Because of the spacing the student commons provides, students had to reserve their tickets to attend the show.

“I have the role of the mother in the play,” Erica Weaver, junior psychology major said.  “There are some real good scenes that people will enjoy and then some that make you want to fall asleep.”

Lavery’s “Frozen” contains some strong language and serious content.

“I am a part of the crew and I have seen the play sneak preview on Wednesday night,” junior Megan Redden, theater major said. “It has some great scenes.”

Well it sounds like the play might be a hit for those who are fans of Lavery’s work.
But if you easily lose interest in something this might not be a big play you would want to see.

“The play is cool but I really don’t like it like that,” Muncel Jones, junior theatre major said.  “I got to see it since I had to help setup the stage.”

Julie Noonan, assistant professor of theater, expected a packed house because only 30 to 40 seats available due to spacing.  And she was right; each night was a packed house.
