There is really only one way to describe this junior-year student at OU: Super Woman. Kaylee Asher may not have the red cape but there is no denying that she is super! Now the question is, what organization is Asher NOT a part of? She is currently a member of several organizations on campus. She holds executive positions wherever possible and dedicates her time to serving her fellow peers.

Asher, on top of being a full-time student, is currently Student Body President, President of Whole Earth Club, Co-director of Diversity Activities Board, Vice President of DECA, a member of Sigma Alpha, a member of the Student Affairs Council, a member of the Women in Gold leadership society and a resident assistant. Instead of relaxing, she devotes her free time to multiple opportunities (clearly) both on and off campus, and on her spare time she cat sits.

Asher chose OU “because of the small, hometown feel,” she says. “I have attended small schools since the beginning of my academic career. I appreciate the ability to get involved and the personal touch and care that come along with attending a small school. Also, the people are incredibly nice and so wiling to help you. I did not feel that I would get this same experience at a larger school.”

This super woman also excels in the classroom where she holds a 4.0 GPA and is double majoring in business economics and marketing. She plans to pursue a master’s degree after she graduates from OU.

“I am not entirely sure what I want to do with my life, and I am okay with that. Keeping an open heart and mind will allow me to pursue whatever opportunities interest me at the time. I will find my calling,” Asher says.

Asher is not only smart but funny too. “I don't know how fun this fact is, but I am unbelievably terrified of fish. One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish — doesn't matter because I am not touching it. I am snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef this summer through the Global Business Perspectives class offered at OU, and I am already anxiety ridden. But I will conquer my fear in hopes of seeing a sea turtle,” she says.

This Kansas native is a very busy woman. Although she is not sporting a red cape, Asher is the newly announced president and will end her college career with her second presidency term! The sky is the limit for Kaylee Asher.
