Receiving All-KCAC Freshman Team last year, OU basketball player Jenna Kramer does not feel any pressure at all for this upcoming season.
Kramer, the 19-year-old Sophomore, is a marketing major who lives in a basketball-centered family. Her mom played basketball at Wichita State University, her sister Jordan played at Washburn University and Benedictine College, and her other sister Jacee is currently playing at Emporia State University.
Before a basketball game she always listens to the same song. Last season, she used to listen to "Bad and Boujee" by Migos, which was her way of getting in the right frame of mind.
The Winchester, Kansas, native has never suffered from a serious injury, but when asked if she ever had she joked about it saying, “No, knock on wood.”
One of her strengths on the court is she is a stronger guard than most, thus she can use her physical strength to drive the lane.
“Jenna is a very versatile player, so she plays in a lot of different positions,” head OU women's basketball coach Bruce Tate says. “She is definitely a talented player as she can play point guard, power forward and shooting guard.”
When asked if she feels any pressure about this season, Kramer says, “I definitely feel like I have to step into more of a leadership role this year just because we lost three seniors which were all starters, but pressure, not really.”
Kramer’s teammate Reshaya Parker describes Kramer’s game style as a fierce, fearless player who attacks the basket.
Last season, the Lady Braves Basketball team posted a 14-8 Conference record, losing in the quarterfinals of the KCAC Tournament. The goal for this season is to go past that, win Conference and make it to Nationals.
Kramer and her teammates have worked hard all summer by doing a lot of conditioning to be ready for the start of this season.
When she’s not playing basketball, she usually is listening to music or hanging out with friends.
Her favorite NBA team is the Golden State Warriors, and her favorite professional basketball player is Stephen Curry.
One fun fact about her, which it probably won’t come as surprise after her evident love for music, is that she can actually sing; she performs at weddings and other varieties of events.
Halsey is her favorite singer, “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” is her favorite movie and her favorite foods are seafood or chicken strips from Cane's.
If Kramer could pick anywhere else to live, she would live in Kansas City because she likes the atmosphere and it’s close to home. She would also like to live in Colorado because she loves the mountains and hiking.
As a future goal, she wants to be a social media marketer for Adidas.
Look out for number two, Jenna Kramer, and the Lady Braves Basketball as they will be a force to be reckoned with this season.
