How to Survive Stress During Finals Week

Finals week can be overwhelming, sleep schedule-disrupting and demanding. We play with the line of graduating, passing classes and sometimes just wondering how little we can do to get by.

We all know this is really how we feel about everything during our last couple days! Below is a little something to ease the mood before we jump into the reality of it all. Here are a few tips for how to survive finals week:

  • Eat your feelings away until the sleep deprivation and frustration go away.
  • Go for a walk and see what kind of new distractions will keep you from coming back to your disappointment of studying.
  • Reward yourself with an episode of your favorite show to take the edge off, but only to take the edge off. DO NOT BINGE WATCH!
  • Call your friend and distract your mind for a little bit. (Odds are they’re experiencing the same level of procrastination as you are.)
  • Treat yourself to a nice relaxing bath with warm water and soothing music after you have finished assignments for the day.
  • Remind yourself that you will not graduate if you do not complete this assignment.
  • Take deep breaths and let them out, realizing that at this very moment you are not alone.
  • Keep yourself motivated with your type of music.
  • Cry to your mom for some comfort, then get back to work.
  • Don’t be afraid to eat your second tub of ice cream this week for comfort.
