Phillips: Too blessed to be stressed; God will help with trouble

It is that time of the year again.

Although we just got back to

school from a month-long break,

things are in full swing once

again.

Looking beyond the daily trials

and tribulations of life, everyone

has homework, projects and other

responsibilities on their plate.

Some have sports practices on

top of their school work.

Others have meetings or

activities to attend.

There are also those who work

while going to school.

This all adds up to a very

stressed out atmosphere.

In fact, according to a study

done by Penn State University

on college students and stress, it

found that 54% of students felt

stressed out at least 6 months out

of the year.

While it may be easy to get

stressed out and worry about

everything one has on their plate,

God wants you to know there is

an alternative.

If you have God in your life,

you can give things up to Him

and he will help you.

Faith is often the most powerful

tool in getting things done and

having a bright outlook.

Sometimes, I even find myself

feeling overwhelmed when I look

at all I have to do.

I feel anxious, distressed and

just want to get away from it all.

Nonetheless, when I take a step

back, I know I would be nowhere

without my faith.

Although I may have a lot to

get done, I know that I am, “too

blessed to be stressed.”

In Philippians 4:6-7 the Bible

says, “Do not worry about

anything; instead, pray about

everything. Tell God what you

need, and thank him for all he has

done. Then you will experience

God’s peace, which exceeds

anything we can understand. His

peace will guard your hearts and

minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

I am not saying it will always

be easy giving all your fears and

doubts to God.

however, it is worth it in my

opinion to fully trust in God and

know he will help you through

whatever stresses you.

One of my favorite Bible verses

sums up what God does in two

simple sentences.

“Trust in the Lord with all your

heart, and lean not on your own

understanding. In all your ways

acknowledge him, and he will

direct your paths.” (Proverb 3:5-6)

The role that God can play in

your life if you will let him is an

extraordinary one.

If you have faith that God is

with you at all times, you have no

reason to be stressed.

He will guide you and protect

you through whatever comes your

way.

“Fear not, for I am with you;

be not dismayed, for I am your

God; I will strengthen you, I will

help you, I will uphold you with

my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah

41:10)

God will do great things in

your life if you let him in.

He will take care of you, restore

your faith, give you hope and pick

you up when you fall down.

He is here to heal us and help

us through whatever it is that life

hands us
