To senior Caj Kueffer, God is The Truth.
Senior Jesse Smith, along with Kueffer, started “The Truth Project” at the beginning of the semester. This is a Bible study that takes place at 7:30 on Monday nights.
Kueffer and Smith wanted to present The Truth Project to students at Ottawa University for many reasons after they both experienced it first-hand.
“We had both been through the study before and found it was a goldmine of a study,” Smith said. “It really changed my life and presented concepts and ideas of things I’d never thought about and what the Bible says about those things.”
This is something Kueffer agrees with.
“I wanted to share it,” Kueffer said.
Smith said typically what happens when they get together on Monday nights is watch the videos which are about 50 minutes long and then have a discussion over the content of the videos. He said there are 12 lessons or sessions that are broken up into 13 videos.
Smith said usually around nine or ten people attend the study every week.
Senior Sara Langley is one of those students who take advantage of this time of fellowship and learning, Langley said she chose to attend because she wanted to learn about the truth and what it is.
So far, Langley said she has learned apologetics, how to defend what she believes. She said she hopes to get a deeper understanding of the truth out of the series.
While there are many good things being said about the series, Kueffer said his favorite part about The Truth Project is that it is unique.
“It’s totally different than anything you see on TV,” Kueffer said. “You don’t have to screen it, just soak it up and it’s not boring.”
Langley likes the fact that The Truth Project presents a relatable experience for her.
“I like that it’s on video so if you miss something you can rewind and watch it again,” she said. “It’s also a classroom setting and I like that.”
Langley also said the study is very detailed and leaves you with a lot to think about.
Kueffer encouraged people to come to experience The Truth Project because everyone has questions about life.
“If they care about seeking the truth, or if they have questions about life, biblical literacy or want answers as to ;what is my purpose? Why am I here? What is Life?’ I think most, if not all, of us have those questions,” he said.
Smith also said people should check out Monday night Bible study.
“I would encourage people to come because this study brings up issues we don’t think about such as ‘who is man and what is evil’,” he said. “It’s biblically based so it’s the truth from God’s word.”
Kueffer said if he had to sum up “the truth,” he could do it in one word: God.
