Students find ways to pull pranks

College dorm pranks can be common on college campuses.

Sophomore Christian Dominguez knows about dorm pranks first hand.

“I had my body and feet taped up while half asleep,” Dominguez said. “It took me about five minutes to get out of the whole situation.”

However, Dominguez got revenge on the prank’s mastermind, sophomore Zech King.

“Then he thought it would be funny to come spray shaving cream all over me and my bed,” King said.

Even though the prank was pulled, they said it was just fun and no one got hurt.

“I would say those pranks were random, not thought out at all. I saw an opportunity so I took it,” King said.

“It was completely spontaneous but we had a lot of fun,” Dominguez said.

Brown Hall Residence Director Thomas Pearson said he’s only encountered one prank incident in the hall that he had to deal with.

“People were running around with blow horns,” Pearson said. “People were getting upset.”

Though Pearson hasn’t had many pranks in the hall, he said his response would be the same.

“I would just have to let them know that it’s wrong and to not do it again,” he said.

Pearson said he has taken part in a prank in Martin Hall when the Resident Assistants moved back in the fall.

“We moved an entire room from the first floor to the third floor and one from the third floor to the first floor,” Pearson said.

This prank was pulled in response to Martin Hall pranking Bennett and framing Brown Hall.

Other pranks have been pulled this year including people being taped to chairs and the residence assistance pulling pranks on each other at the beginning of the year before the rest of the students move in.

“We just pull dumb pranks to get a laugh,” King said. “It’s all in good fun though.”
