Harry Potter, with its action filled pages, is the best book series I have ever laid my hands on.
But some people think differently.
I feel like with every page I turn I get more and more into the book and it is so hard for me to put it down. The books are a highly complex that is so detailed and descriptive that it amazes me someone just pulled it out of their head and onto paper.
Harry Potter is the story of a young boy who is forced to live with his aunt and uncle when his parents were killed by the evil Lord Voldemort. When Harry was 11, he received a letter stating he was a wizard and would need to report to the Hogwarts School of Wizardry in the fall.
While during his time at Hogwarts Harry is forced to battle magical creatures and helpers of Lord Voldemort to save the school, the good of magic and his own life. Harry doesn’t have to face the challenges on his own; he is always accompanied by his best friends, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley.
There are seven books and once you start to read them you find it easier to finish each book because they just keep getting better. Some people (mostly parents)
view Harry Potter as dark magic or devil work so they will not allow their children to read it. There are actually many websites trying to expose the devil inside the Harry Potter books but none of their arguments make sense. They feel it is putting a message into their children’s heads that magic is real and that you could very well be a witch or wizard.
These people are mistaken. According to Barnes and Noble Harry Potter has been the “largest seller in the history of the entire company.” This is an amazing statistic because this means that people just cannot get enough of the series and it is doing nothing but good things. Harry Potter has also been known to get kids to turn off the TV and read a book for a change.
Parents are just upset with the books because they have never read them so they do not know what they are missing. Harry Potter has so many twists and turns that you think you know how it is going to end but then it takes a big turn and you are just taken back a little. I have never been so absorbed in a book before and that’s why kids love it so much. The movies are not as good but they are fun to watch. If you are going to get started in the Harry Potter phenomenon you better read the books before watching the movie. The movies do not even come close to what is in the books they just cover the big things which is dumb because the little things are equally good.
I just think it is really cool to see what a witch or wizard would really live like if they were real. The different and weird food they would eat like chocolate frogs, the weird drinks they would drink like butterbeer and just their weird surroundings like the forbidden forest.
Call me crazy, but I love Harry Potter and if it was really as terrible as some people think they would take it out of schools and bookstores. It wouldn’t be as big as the world sees it.
