How you know you go to Ottawa University

You know you go to Ottawa when…

1. People joke about “Bomb Threat Thursday”, and you aren’t surprised or scared; Instead, the only thing that comes to mind is Zelda.

2. You think of Senior Core and how much you’re dreading taking the class, or if you have already accomplished that difficult task, how you wish you had spent that time differently.

3. You know that everyone knows what you did last weekend; there are no secrets.

4. “I go to Ottawa, it’s a small school by KU, about 20 miles from Lawrence,” is a response you use on a regular basis when asked where you go to school.

5. You know the people that were in that commercial that was made on campus aren’t actually students. Yes, you heard me right.

6. You have voluntary hung out with a professor outside of class, and with that, you enjoyed yourself.

7. You have some classes with only a handful of classmates or you have the same classmates in every class you’re in.

8. The major you were planning on getting in college, doesn’t exist at Ottawa and you will most likely have to go to Grad school to be able to work at your dream job.

9. You can walk to one side of campus very quickly, but obviously still complain about being frustrated that you’re a communication student living in Martin Hall.

10. Townies have become a usual sight at Wal-Mart and you are no longer amused and interested in what the heck they are wearing.

11. You are forced to live on campus until you are 21, and if you turn 21 right at semester, you better hope they’ll make an exception for you.

12. If you’re in small classes, you can never miss them because your professor will obviously be able to tell.

13. You aren’t afraid to call you professors by their first name, they even advise you to do so on the first day of class during introductions.

14. You’re really great at writing papers an hour before they are due.

15. The attendance at different sporting events is a disgrace compared to the number of people you see on TV at NCAA football and basketball games.

16. You’ve had dinner with the president and you’re not afraid to say hello to him when he comes onto campus.

17. You believe that the internet should be faster because of the amount of money you pay to attend Ottawa every year.

18. You feel like you should be involved in so many things but end up regretting it and feeling super overwhelmed.

19. The way you felt when you found out El Mez wasn’t open anymore was a feeling you will never forget.

20. CAB is one of the best things you will find on campus because you can actually win things you’re going to use…Wal-Mart gift card anyone?
