Winter Weather lookout for 2021-2022 season

It’s almost that time of year in Ottawa when you hate going outside because of the breathtaking cold and the occasional snow that leaves students from areas where this isn’t common kind of clueless on how to get through the weather. 

 

Being prepared for the poor weather is important because it can be dangerous at times. The picture below gives a temperature outlook for the nation this winter. To break it down in words and make it a little easier to understand: Kansas is expected to see about 33-40% above normal temperatures compared to the average temperature from years past. 

The precipitation map is what we really need to look at to get a better understanding of what to expect this winter. Below, the expected precipitation map for the country shows that Kansas should have equal chances of precipitation compared to previous years.
