Mid-Semester Sport Report

We are halfway through the semester, already getting our midterm grades and feeling like we’re nearing the finish line. Campus is full of students grinding it out from the very beginning of the semester to now, balancing both schoolwork and their athletic season.

All our fall season sports are more than halfway through and are doing great.

The football season made a full turnaround compared to last season. This year, with one regular season game left, the Braves are sitting third in the KCAC standing with a 6-2 record and are receiving votes in the latest NAIA coach’s Top 25 Poll.

Women’s volleyball finished last season with a record of 30-13, winning the KCAC regular season and qualifying for the National Championship. They are currently ranked 25th in the NAIA Volleyball Poll with a 20-9 record and sit at third position in the KCAC standings with an 8-1 record, just behind McPherson College and Kansas Wesleyan University.

Men’s Soccer made it to the quarterfinals of the KCAC Tournament, falling to Tabor College 1-0 last season. They finished their season with a 9-8-2 (W-L-D) overall record and 7-3-1 in conference play. They are standing in fourth place in the KCAC with a 6-3 record and a 8-6-1 overall. They sit behind Oklahoman Wesleyan University, Kansas Wesleyan University, Friends University and McPherson College.

Women’s Soccer 2017-2018 season came to an end during the NAIA National tournament as they fell to No. 2 nationally ranked University of Northwestern Ohio 2-1. They accumulated a 17-4-1 overall record and a 10-1 KCAC record last season, finishing with a national ranking of 16 and a conference ranking of 2. Currently, they sit in second place in the KCAC standings, with a 9-1 record, ahead of nationally ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan University. They are currently receiving votes for the NAIA Top 25 poll, as they have accumulated an overall record of 13-3.

Men’s cross country has battled it out this season, ending in 18th place in the NAIA Mid-States Classic. 

Women’s cross country finished in 16th in the NAIA Mid-States classic on October 20.

Women’s Volleyball head to Salina to play Kansas Wesleyan.

Men and Women Soccer will be heading to North Newton to battle Bethel College.

Men and women’s cross country takes place at the KCAC Championships in North Newton.
