OU makes appearance in 2015 U.S. News Best Colleges report

Ottawa University was recently named to the 2015 U.S. News Best Colleges list, which consists of about 1,800 divided into regional categories.

Ottawa University ranked 59th in Midwest colleges. Seven categories, including undergraduate academic reputation, graduation/retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, alumni giving, and graduation rate performances, are taken into consideration to score and rank the schools.

One of the “unique qualities” mentioned in the summary of the school was the Adawe LifePlan Center. U.S. News stated “the services provided by the Adawe LifePlan Center sets Ottawa University apart from other colleges and universities by providing a success coach for every student.”

Besides, the U.S. News said, “through ongoing thought and meaningful dialogue with the Adawe advisor, the student creates a personal plan that serves as a guide throughout their college years and into the future.”

Dr. Terry Haines, University Provost, said in response to Ottawa University making the list. “We are extremely proud that U.S. News has nationally recognized Ottawa University for the quality education and student outcomes that have been known by our alumni and constituents for decades.” Haines said. “As we gain more visibility, become increasingly data-driven, and continue to achieve our Vision 2020 goals, it is my belief that Ottawa University will continually rise in national recognition.”
