Junior Rebecca Campbell will play the character of Mrs. Peacock in the musical “Clue” which will be presented at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 24, 25 and 26 in Peters Auditorium.
Campbell said she likes this play because it is hugely entertaining.
“It’s a very light and enjoyable show to watch,” she said. “There’s some audience interaction, the music is fun, it’s high energy. There are no deep questions being addressed here. It’s just plain old fun.”
Theater Director Julie Noonan said she chose this play because of the time of year it could be shown.
“Since it’s around Homecoming, and Homecoming is near Halloween, I thought it would be fun to do a mystery,” she said.
“The game has been around since 1946, so many people have played the game and have a vision in their head of what the characters are like,” she said. “I think it will be fun for the audience to get to participate without having to get on stage.”
Freshman Regan Aeschliman, who will play Miss Scarlet, said that, as a freshman, she was surprised she got a part.
“I’ve loved meeting everybody,” she said. “It’s been a great way to meet friends.”
Campbell said the relationships between the actors and actresses are crucial.
“None of us are on our A-game every day, so we have to be forgiving and helpful to one another,” Campbell said. “We all have a common goal so it’s to everyone’s advantage to help each other along.”
Aeschliman said everyone has to get their own personal things done for the show, or it doesn’t work out, but she said it’s been a great experience so far.
“We click really well together, so it should make for a really good show,” she said.
Noonan said she hopes people will come to the show and experience it.
“There are some big, non-realistic characters, so it will be interesting to see how the actors interpret those characters,” she said.
