The Ottawa Braves website has been redesigned and revamped.
When asked about the new web site, Sports Information Director Katie Tooley said OU’s contract with SideArm Sports provides a new web design every three years.
“SideArm is a wonderful company that updates the site and keeps it from becoming stagnant,” Tooley said.
The new website took about two months of initial work to get everything together, such as pictures, Tooley said.
“We had to choose pictures and figure out what we wanted to change overall” she said.
Junior Courtney Harris, who is featured on the women’s track and field home page, said she likes the website because it is up to date.
“It has pictures and information of current players, not ones from past years,” he said.
Harris said the new website is not completely flawless yet.
“There are still players who have graduated that are still listed on the rosters,” she said. “But that is understandable because everyone is pretty busy and that is a minor thing.”
Sophomore Michael Matos said he uses the website to get information on recent games.
“I use the website to check the scores of the games I don’t go to,” he said. “We get emails of the
score, but that is it. The website is a good way to see the details of the game and who did what.”
Harris also said she goes to the athletic webpage to see how all of our teams did in recent games and keep up with records.
Matos and Harris both said they view the website two or three times a week on average, depending on games or new important news.
“Without the website I wouldn’t ever know what happened over the course of a game or who was awarded for their accomplishments,” Harris said.
In another three years the website will be updated again by SideArm Sports, Tooley said.
