When police followed up on a residential burglary report called in by a former OU student, they found more than they expected.
Senior Casey-Jack Martin Kitos-Coppoc, 26, was arrested Thursday on campus and transported to the police department. He was then interviewed for a follow-up investigation, Lt. Adam Weingartner said.
“The suspect was arrested for the original burglary and theft that was reported in January 2010, possession of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school and possession of drug paraphernalia,” he said.
Weingartner, with the Ottawa Police Department, said paraphernalia found included marijuana, scales and baggies.
“OU officials were notified about the original contact and the additional charges,” he said.
University Provost Dennis Tyner could not be reached for comment. Assistant Dean of Student Affairs Tom Taldo and Brown Hall Residential Director Thomas Pearson declined to comment.
