BSU showcases talent, history

Black Student Union has been on a mission to continue their tradition of showcasing talent, knowledge and history.

“The showcase was student driven and the performances were personal and entertaining,” Nijah Fudge, president of BSU said.

On Feb. 12, BSU hosted their second annual Black History Showcase.

This event was not only hosted to embrace the roots of black history but to give students an opportunity to show off talents.

The showcase consisted of many OU students that showed off their creativity and knowledge.

“I think it was a great opportunity to learn not only about the black culture but its roots as well,” Jessica Clark said. “The showcase was an enjoyable event that allowed people to display their talents and knowledge of black history.”

Freshman Randi Marolf said all did a good job.

“I thought it was awesome,” Marolf said. “I’m glad I went.”

The students who participated believed the event went well, also.

“I can only hope more faculty and students do more to support the effort of BSU,” Fudge said. “Those who did not attend truly missed out on a fun cultural experience much needed on the OU campus.”
