Student shines with success

Muncel Jones can be seen all around OU’s campus in his many activities-choir, acting, cheering and being a member of Black Student Union (BSU.)

He seems to do it all and still makes it to class on time.

“Muncel is an overall good person; I can’t say anything bad about him,” Meghan Caldwell, sophomore education major, said.

But how did he become so talented in the arts? As a kid, Muncel discovered he had a talent for singing and dreamed of becoming a professional singer; little did he know he was gifted with other talents.

He discovered his other talent when he performed in his first show, “School House Rock,” at Oakville Senior High; this is when he noticed acting was the other talent he was gifted with.

A short amount of time after this show, OU held auditions at his school, he went to the audition and got the part and OU awarded him with a musical scholarship.

Muncel earned his first leading role as a sophomore. After his performance, he felt this leading role came natural to him and this is when he fell in love with acting and decided to pursue it as a professional career.
